OPSO Searching for Burglary Suspects
Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Investigators are currently investigating a series of vehicle burglaries that occurred during early morning hours in the Thatcher Pointe Subdivision in Sterlington. The suspects canvassed the neighborhood on foot, usually checking vehicles for unlocked doors and taking primarily firearms and cash from unlocked vehicles. The suspects and possible suspect vehicles they used to get to the neighborhood are shown in the surveillance camera videos.
The suspects are also wanted by both the Monroe Police Department and the West Monroe Police Department for questioning in recent burglary and theft investigations they are conducting.

Charles Ellis Homicide

On 01/19/2019 Charles B. Ellis sustained a single gun shot wound to the chest while in the 1200 Blk of South 3rd St and later succumbs to that injury. During the course of the investigation, there have been no new leads and no witnesses have come forth yet that may been present when Ellis was shot. Crime Stoppers is requesting the public's help. Crime Stoppers Needs your Help to Identify!!!
On 8-20-19 at 0034 hrs, OPSO was dispatched to the Smart located at 8156 Cypress Street,
West Monroe, La. 71291 in reference to an Alarm with glass breakage. Upon OPSO Deputies
arrival, the business front door was found to be shattered but intact. The owner responded and
upon review of video surveillance shows a single B/M approach the business walking from the east
and uses unknown object to break the front door glass which triggers the audible alarm and the
Suspect leaves the area by unknown means.

Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Investigators are currently investigating a homicide that occurred in eastern Ouachita Parish. The victim, Kengarica Jones, age 32, of Monroe, was fatally shot during the early morning hours of Saturday, August 3rd, 2019.

On 7/6/19, three unknown suspects entered a home on Brownlee Rd in West Monroe, armed with handguns. The suspects held the homeowners at gun point and took items from the residence. Anyone with information please contact Crime Stoppers of North Delta.
